Importance of Professor & TA Office Hours

Attending lectures, thorough note-taking and active participation in class discussions are important parts of the student academic experience in college. But these tasks are not enough to establish a relationship between your teaching assistant, professor and you.

Attending office hours, asking questions and discussion related subject-matter with these key people is important for two main reasons. First, it allows your TA or professor to remember you as an individual among many. And second, it allows you to learn about opportunities to develop as an undergraduate. Doing so enables you to build a lasting relationship with these important people who will often be sources of recommendation letters, thesis tutorials and more.
