Associate or Full Professor in Social Policy
and Human Development
Northwestern University invites applications for a tenured faculty position to be held jointly between the Institute for Policy Research and the School of Education and Social Policy. We seek a scholar with a research program in the study of social policies and with strong quantitative skills. The successful candidate will have strong theoretical and empirical interests in some area of social policy such as education, poverty, social welfare/social insurance policy, health, or immigration and in how policies affect the lives of individuals or families. Applicants should have an outstanding record of both scholarly publications and externally funded research. To promote policy-relevant research activities, the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) portion of the appointment will carry one-half reduction in teaching responsibilities. In addition to research, responsibilities will include teaching and advising doctoral and undergraduate students in the School of Education and Social Policy.
