This workshop focuses on the issue of urban sustainability. It will explore such questions as:

How can the urban environment be sustained and improved in the face of the traditional focus of the environmental movement on non-urban spaces?

Could the environmentally responsible redevelopment of urban areas help combat suburban and exurban sprawl?

What challenges do efforts to reinvent the cleanup process for uban brownfields pose for fundamental democratic values?
This workshop is open to all, and should be of interest to a diverse group of faculty, students, policymakers and concerned citizens
