Admission to Northwestern

Greetings and welcome to the IO. The information housed within these pages pertains directly to students who have been recently admitted to an academic program at Northwestern University. As a newly admitted student to Northwestern, you are now eligible to apply for a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 (for an F-1 or J-1 visa respectively). To receive an I-20 or DS-2019, you must submit the I-20/DS-2019 Request Form to your admissions office, who will forward your materials to the International Office for processing.

International students must apply for admission to the appropriate admissions office for their intended academic program. There is no single office at the university that handles admissions for all students to all programs. Instead, each school maintains its own admissions office and specialized staff to meet the needs of their prospective students.
