Graduate International Student Orientation

The International Office and the Graduate Sidekicks are excited to welcome incoming graduate international students at our annual Graduate International Student Orientation (G-ISO)!  G-ISO is open to students in all academic programs and departments.  

G-ISO 2017: September 6-7, 2017

Complete G-ISO schedule

For G-ISO 2017, we will have three information sessions.   Each session will include two hours at Norris University Center and an hour campus tour (optional). All three sessions will have the same content, and are open to Masters and PhD students.  Please register for ONE session only.

Session 1: September 6, 9:30 am-11:30 am + campus tour 11:30 am -12:30 pm

Session 2: September 6, 2:00-4:00 pm + campus tour 4-5 pm

Session 3: September 7, 9:00-11:00 am + campus tour 11 am-12 pm

What happens at G-ISO?

  • Meet other new graduate international students, the Graduate Sidekicks, and IO staff
  • Complete immigration check-in
  • Learn the key rules for maintaining your F-1/J-1 student status
  • Learn about academic culture in the US and student life at Northwestern

Immigration check-in

Student may complete the Immigration Check-In process at G-ISO.

U.S. immigration regulation states all F-1/J-1 students are REQUIRED to "check-in" at the International Office within five days of your arrival on campus.
