NU In...India, South Korea, and China!

In summer 2014, 2015 & 2016, the IO presented orientations to incoming international students & parents in South Korea, China & India.  500+ students/parents met IO staff members, current students and made new friends.  NU In focuses on academic culture in the U.S., culture shock, preparing for life on campus, and the visa acquisition process. 2017 dates have been set and registration will open in May 2017. Undergraduate International Student Orientation + IPAs

The IO hosts an annual 3-4 day orientation for new undergraduate international students, as well as a 1-day orientation for their parents and family members.  ISO includes information sessions and social activities on campus, in Evanston , and in Chicago.  The International Peer Advisors (IPAs) are current international and American student leaders for ISO. Graduate International Student Orientation + Graduate Sidekicks

The IO also hosts an annual one-day orientation for new graduate international students.  G-ISO includes sessions for Master’s and Doctoral students on academic culture, life in the US and campus involvement.   Graduate Sidekicks are current graduate and American student leaders for G-ISO.   Register for G-ISO 2016!   Meet the Graduate Sidekicks!

Bed Bath & Beyond trips

The IO partners with Bed Bath & Beyond (“BBB,” a chain of home goods stores) to offer shopping parties at the start of the academic year.  Parties feature free shuttle buses to and from campus, discounts, prizes and personal shoppers!  2015 photos

Housing webinar

The IO partners with Off-Campus Life (OCL) to offer a webinar for new graduate students.  OCL staff walk incoming students through the process of finding an off-campus apartment and provide useful information.   May 2015 webinar
