International Student Advisory Board

New for Fall 2017!  The International Office is launching the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) to improve the international student experience at Northwestern.  Help the IO improve our programs and services to tackle the unique needs of international students! 

For 2017-2018, ISAB will include 10 students (5 undergraduate/5 graduate). 

Purpose of ISAB: 

  • To determine and advocate for the needs of international students at Northwestern 
  • To share international student experiences and expertise with the campus community 
  • To provide feedback and recommendations to the IO on our programs and series, especially the development of new programs 
  • To communicate IO programs and services to peers 

ISAB members will:  

  • Assess international student needs  
  • Work with the IO and campus partners to develop programs and services to address international student challenges 
  • Share their experiences as international students at Northwestern
  • Develop leadership and intercultural communication skills 
  • Shape the Northwestern international student experience for current and future students 

ISAB member requirements: 

  • Current international student on campus through Spring Quarter 2018
  • Attend monthly meetings (Mondays, 3-5 pm October-April)* 
  • Work on projects/assignments from ISAB meetings 
  • Promote and attend IO programs throughout the year 

*Meeting dates: October 23November 20December 4January 22February 12March 12April 23
