Noor Ali is the Assistant Director for Social Justice Education. Born in Jerusalem and raised in Rockford, IL, Noor joins Northwestern after serving as Student Life Program Manager for the Program on Intergroup Relations at the University of Michigan, where she oversaw CommonGround, a social justice program led and run by students. She also taught an undergraduate course that trained students to become intergroup dialogue facilitators and coached them as they peer-facilitated dialogues on race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, and sexual orientation. Noor is especially interested in Arab-Jewish dialogue and has co-led a research team for the past five years that resulted in two published journal articles and three national presentations.

Noor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, eating (and cooking!) good food, and spending time with family and friends.
