Beginning with their 2017-2018 Summer Programs, North Shore Montessori Schools offer eligible Northwestern faculty, staff and students a 10% tuition discount on all full-time and part-time Pre-K and Kindergarten programs (this includes both half-day, and full-day programs).

School Programs

The North Shore Montessori Schools have provided authentic Montessori education for North Shore families for over 50 years.  The schools were founded in 1966 as a not-for-profit organization by local families looking to provide their children with the best education available.  Those families were among the first in the state to organize and create a Montessori school in Deerfield for their children and other local children.  Today, the North Shore Montessori Schools consist of three schools and are still led by one of the original families.  Additionally, North Shore Montessori founder Carolyn Kambich was just named a “Living Legacy” by the American Montessori Society for her work locally and around the world, a designation that has been given to a only few dozen people worldwide.

All of the three schools offer programs for: Infants, Toddlers, 2-3 Year Olds, and 3-6 Year Olds (includes Kindergartners) - Elementary School is also offered at our Riverwoods Montessori School campus.  We offer half-day, school-day, full-day and individualized programs.  Families can choose from a 12-month program, a traditional school year program, and a summer “country” camp program.  All of the schools are open from 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM.

The North Shore Montessori Schools are nationally accredited by the American Montessori Society.  In addition, the Infant, Toddler, and 2-3 Year Old classes are licensed by State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services.  The schools are registered with the Illinois State Board of Education and are full member schools of the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (A.I.M.S.).  The schools are represented on the Child Care Coalition of Lake County and also the Illinois Coalition of non-public schools (I.C.N.S.).
