Baker Demonstration School offers benefits-eligible Northwestern faculty and staff a 5% tuition discount. Baker offers tuition assistance to admitted Kindergarten-8th grade students with demonstrated need. The financial aid process is completed independent of the admissions process. Financial Aid awards are generally determined in late April.

School Programs

Baker Demonstration School is an independent coeducational school, serving toddler through eighth grade children, dedicated to creating well-rounded students through the principles of progressive education.

Less formally, Baker is a school where children learn by doing.

  • Baker Demonstration School provides experiential, differentiated learning for toddlers through eighth grade students.
  • Training fine teacher-students remains a defining factor of Baker among neighboring schools and provides Baker with outstanding Associates throughout the school.

School tours run weekly from mid-October to April. Baker also hosts an All School Open House twice a year. Contact admissions@bakerdemschool.org for details.

Baker is located near the Evanston Northwestern campus at 201 Sheridan Road in Wilmette, IL 60091, on the northern edge of Evanston. Use MapQuest to locate Baker. (Google maps places them incorrectly.)
