Policy

Northwestern University provides recognition for exceptional service through a Service Excellence Recognition Program.

Program

Training programs focusing on the importance of service performance are available to staff. These programs are publicized through brochures published by the training division.

The annual performance evaluation form includes a service assessment component.

Procedures

New employees are made aware of the Service Excellence Recognition Program during orientation.

University employees, students, parents, vendors, and others may recommend employees for recognition by completing a commendation form available from all departments and on posters located throughout the University. All nominations are submitted to the human resources training division. The training division may be contacted for additional information, including the "We'd Like to Hand it to You" brochure describing the program.
