Any member of the faculty, staff, or student body may nominate eligible employees.

Nominations may be signed by more than one person and must be received by the department of human resources by the deadline. The nominating ballot is accompanied by a detailed letter stating reasons for the nomination. There is no limit to the number of nominations allowed for a single employee.

Employees may not be nominated more than once in any two-year period. Current members of the Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC) are not eligible.

Nominations are sent to the department of human resources, 720 University Place, on the Evanston campus, or the Department of Human Resources, Wieboldt Hall, Room 119, 339 East Chicago Avenue, on the Chicago campus.

Selection committee. A selection committee composed of members of NUSAC, the academic and administrative staffs, and the department of human resources selects the Employees of the Year from among those nominated. The selection committee reviews the nominating statements, the work history of the nominees, and other indicators of excellence from supervisors, personnel files, and other records.

Selection. An Employee of the Year for each campus is selected from those nominated.
