How do I access my paycheck online?

First, access the Self-Service system using the following link: https://nuhr.northwestern.edu.  Once you have logged into the system with your NET ID and password click the hyperlink under “Payroll and Compensation” labeled “View Paycheck”. Your most current check will display.

Do I need a special ID and password to log into the system?

Use your NET ID and Password (used for Eudora Email and Meeting Maker) to log into the system.

How far back in my service with the University can I see my paychecks?

By clicking “View a Different Paycheck” link on the view paycheck panel, a list will display of all checks you received from the University dating as far back as 1997.

Will this take the place of my paper checks and check advices?

Those who receive checks in the mail will continue to receive paper checks, in addition to the electronic self-service paycheck page. For the time being, those enrolled in direct deposit will also receive paper check advices. This will be changing in the month of July of 2007, we advise you be alert for upcoming changes.

What does it mean if I see a negative sign in front of an amount on my check?

A negative sign in front of an amount signifies a reversal of either your earnings, benefit or tax data. For specific questions and circumstances, please contact the appropriate consultant in either the benefits or payroll office.

Can I see my vacation and sick accrual balance?

Biweekly employees will be able to see their current vacation, sick and personal floating holiday on each paycheck.

What if my address and/or name are displayed incorrectly?

To make any changes to the address or name appearing on your paycheck you can make theses changes in the personal information or online directory in the Self-service system.

Can I see my FSA check?

Yes, you can see your FSA check under a different panel; do this by navigating from the home page to the Benefits section and clicking on “Benefits Information,” from benefits information click on “Flex Spending Accounts.” Your current FSA information will display below; to view your past benefit information, type in the year and click the “Go” button.

What happens if I see that my tax exemptions are incorrect?

To change your tax exemptions or take additional taxes out, you must complete the Federal or State Form W-4, Employee Withholding Allowance Certificate. You can get these forms on-line at http://www.northwestern.edu/hr/forms/hrispersonal.html.

I have multiple jobs at the University, but I only see a listing of two departments?

The paycheck will only list your fist two jobs in FASIS in order to keep the printable version limited to one page.

Should I use the Back and Forward arrows in the Internet Browser to navigate through the panel?
No. For successful navigation throughout the self-service pages, please use the links provided on the screen. For the exception of the print icon to print a screen page, do not use the buttons in the browser bar.
