Check Printing

Currently we use a 3rd party software to produce the payroll checks. Modifications have been made to eliminate the 3rd party vendor and software, and produce checks directly out of FASIS. This creates a savings on hardware and software with the 3rd party being eliminated. This will be completed in the 1st quarter of 2002.

On Demand Checks

This is delivered with the system, to allow for check to be created directly off of FASIS. When doing this, there is a guarantee that the check has been entered into the system, that the correct balance sheet has been charged, and that the department will be charged for the salary costs. This will cut down the duplicate effort created in cutting manual checks, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and reduce the potential for errors.

Retirement Plan Changes for 2002

Economic Growth and Recovery Act of 2001. Employees over 50 can elect to have an additional $1,000 deducted from their check. All reports and interfaces must be modified to accommodate this change.

ETES Implementation

Software was purchased December 2001. The roll out plan is to have the pilot departments on by June of 2002. After the pilot departments are stable, we will continue to roll out the other departments. Training will be conducted on this system for supervisors and all biweekly employees.
