Monthly Vacation Accruals in HRIS
Moved the tracking of annual reporting of Vacation Accruals for Exempt staff from a database system to HRIS. Currently HRIS accrues exempt vacation accruals on a monthly basis and then create an annual letter to employees asking for their usage through the year.

GME Payroll
The Graduate Medical Education payroll (Residents and Interns), was moved from the mainframe system to HRIS. This was a year 2000 endeavor. The Medical School had update capabilities to do all HR and Payroll transactions for the GME Payroll. We built in rotation schedules, program levels, and billing capabilities for all of the other participating hospitals who supported the GME Payroll.

Program to check SSN and Name match
We created a file to send to the Social Security Administration on a quarterly basis to check on employee names that do not match their Social Security Number name. If W2s are issued with name mistmatches, fines of $50.00 per employees can be levied against the University.

Non Resident Independent Contractor Program
Modified system to accommodate taxation for non resident Independent Contractors. At the same time, we purchased WINDSTAR to track non resident aliens and keep up with regulatory requirements on treaties and taxation regulations.

Upgrade to Release 7.5

Implement Recruitment Module
Implement Recruitment Module in HRIS and retire "RESTRAC"system. Eliminated duplicate data entry into both systems. Features of Recruitment Module were: entry of all applicants into HRIS, track positions applied for, product Open Position Listing, produce Hiring letters, etc.

Test Year 2K
Servers, software, VISTA software, PCs.

Implement Pre Tax Parking and Transit Coupons
Updated the interface from the Parking Office to enroll employees automatically into HRIS. We then offered all employees parking and transit coupons on a pretaxed basis.

Implementation of 2 benefit Rates for Fringes
Created a report that would track federal and non federal accounts in HRIS and identify which ones needed additional fringe benefit charges.
