Implementation of VISTA
Software was purchased to view FASIS reports on line. With the initial implementation users were given selected reports they could view online based on their Department Security. This system was to eliminate the paper reports being distributed via the mail service. We currently have about 200 VISTA users on the system with viewing access. We have cut down the paper about 35% and we are still working on this.

Additional Interfaces to other University Systems
During 1997, the ITMS staff built interfaces to all other university systems. This included the Wildcard, PH, Library, Student System for FICA exemptions, Work Study allotments, and Graduate Students to be paid.

Reporting Server
The University purchased a back up server which functions also as our reporting server. This allows the users to query FASIS without interrupting any update capabilities or payroll processing in the production environment. Reporting server is updated nightly with current FASIS data.

Procedural Training Manuals
After the initial implementation we create Procedural Training manuals for Faculty, Graduate Students, Temporary Employees. Training was conducted on quarterly basis.

W2 production
Since the University was running FASIS as well as the Graduate Medical Education payroll (which was on the mainframe), an interface was needed to bring together all taxable wages and produce W2s between the two systems.
