Implementation of HRIS 5.0 Release

HRIS was implemented with the first payroll of 1997. The implementation of the system only included what was addressed as system replacement. System replacement included all functionality of the old system, but no new development. The system was implemented centrally, with data entry only in HR, Payroll and Benefits. The University community would have look up access until such time that the system was deployed for data entry out to the departments. Transactions were still processed on paper via a Position/Appointment Form. Position Management was used in HRIS, so the old "POSICON" system was retired When purchasing HRIS, PeopleSoft only had designed the Commercial Product, so the Higher Ed Product was not available. Listed below are some of the customization that were added to the system:

  • Tracking Treaties and Non Residents - manage taxation for non residents 1042s
  • General Ledger Interface to CUFS - funding by position
  • Faculty Tenure Panel.
  • Salary Distribution Process (SDA) - 9 months contract periods
  • Time Entry for Biweekly Employees
  • ModifyVacation Accruals
  • Build in the 403B functionality
