Open Enrollment 2010

Open Enrollment Closed on November 20, 2009 at 5pm

What's changing for 2010?
  • Aetna will replace UniCare as the second Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) offered by Northwestern.

  • Unmarried dependent children will be eligible for insurance through age 25 (until first of month following 26th birthday) regardless of residency and employment status.

  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment will be covered the same as any other medical condition.

  • Wellness procedures will be covered according to age/sex guidelines under the Premier and Select PPO plans. The $500 annual limit will be removed.

  • Life Insurance changes during Open Enrollment require Evidence of Insurability

  • The Health FSA maximum annual election amount will increase from $10,000 to $12,000

  • The out of pocket maximum for PPO plans will no longer be based on salary tiers; there will be a single value for each plan.

  • The annual contact lens allowance will increase from $150 to $200 for UnitedHealthcare Vision.
