Volunteer and Tour Track Information

Chaperones:
  • Two to three chaperones will be responsible for escorting 15 – 20 children on a unique tour track which includes three classes.
  • Chaperones begin the day at 7:45 a.m. and conclude between 12 and 1:00 p.m. once the parents have picked up their children.

General Volunteers:

  • Assist with check-in or breakfast.
  • Arrive at 7:30 and finish by 9:30 a.m.

Whether it’s creating “slime” polymers with the Chemistry department, learning about advertising with the Medill School of Journalism, or exploring history through scrap booking with the University Archives, Tour Track presenters bring to life the diverse careers that make up Northwestern for the children who participate in Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work day. Consider volunteering as a TODSTW Tour Track Presenter and share your enthusiasm for your career with the next generation. Tour Track presenter responsibilities include:

  • Creating a 45-50 minute interactive presentation for a group of approximately 15-20 chidren, ages 8-16
  • Deciding which of the below time slots you’d like to offer your presentation (choose 1, 2 or 3 time slots)
    • 9:15 am – 10:15 am
    • 10:30 am – 11:30 am
    • 11:45 am – 12:45 pm
