Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day: Thursday April 27, 2017

Organized by the Office of Human Resources, the annual Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day is a FREE event open to family and friends, aged 8-16, of Northwestern faculty and staff members. This educational program is intended to introduce children to a variety of workplace roles and to help them envision their professional goals. This event was founded by the Ms. Foundation for Women and was later formed into the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation.

This year’s theme is "Count on Me”, highlighting the key trait of dependability. As a member of a workplace team, it is important that each team member acts responsibly, it makes the workplace more successful. Children will take part in three workshops built around a STEM curriculum, combining math and science with fun taught by Northwestern faculty, staff, students, or volunteers.

We encourage parents to take their child(ren) to lunch following the day’s activities as it’s a great opportunity to hear about their experience of the event at one of the many unique local eateries. There will be space available on each campus for those who wish to bring a brown bag lunch.
