Take Our Children to Work Day: Volunteer and Tour Track Information

It takes many people to make this event a success. Several ways for you to become involved and support the day’s activities are summarized below.

We anticipate more than 450 children participating in the day and will need approximately 25 volunteers to assist with check-in and breakfast. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:30 a.m. will finish by 9:30 a.m.

Tour Track Host
Create a 45-50 minute interactive presentation for a group of 15-20 children, ages 8-16. Tour track hosts lead one, two, or three sessions throughout the morning and are able to select their preferred time slots.

Evanston Tour Track Time Slots:
  • 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

  • 9 a.m. - 9:50 a.m.
  • 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

We are looking for approximately 100 chaperones between the Evanston and Chicago campuses. Each tour track will need two to three chaperones to escort 15-20 children to three classes throughout the day. Chaperones begin the day at 7:45 a.m. and conclude between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
