Nurse Visits

Students may schedule an appointment with a Registered Nurse to do:

  • TB testing: for NU Admission Health requirements, volunteer or other program requirements.
  • Vaccinations: for NU Admission Health requirements, requirements of other universities, volunteer or other programs, or personal health concerns. Vaccines (there is a charge for vaccines) offered include:
    • Influenza (seasonal)
    • Tdap (tetanus,diphtheria, pertussis)
    • HPV (human papiloma virus)
    • Hepatitis A and B
    • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
    • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Allergy shots: (see policies and instructions)
  • Lab tests (no Xrays or EKG's) ordered by physicians outside the Health Service. Written orders from a U.S. licensed physician must be provided before or at visit.
  • Injectable or oral medication administration: (Humira, Enbrel, B12, testosterone, for example) Requires annual approval and order from NUHS physician.
  • Blood pressure or weight checks: with order and approval of physician.
  • Suture removal: with instructions from physician who placed sutures, including number of sutures and date they are to be removed.
