The Office of Strategic Initiatives is an arm of the Office of the President that works closely with the Office of General Counsel. Learn more about the Office's purpose and staff below.
To organize the implementation of university-wide priorities and establish plans in support of Northwestern’s ambitious goals, President Schapiro developed the Office of Strategic Initiatives. A number of strategically defined initiatives that, out of necessity involve multiple academic and administrative units, have been identified to promote the eminence and impact of Northwestern. This unit works to facilitate and implement strategic initiatives that require significant central coordination. We collaborate with university leadership to coordinate linkages with other senior leaders and ensure responsiveness, progress and execution of strategic topics. In addition, we promote forethought and push for action on necessary and emerging issues by collaborating with a variety of university constituencies.
