Lakeside Field Improvements

Project Status: COMPLETED

Construction start: June 2015
Completion: December 2015

Project Description & Statistics

The Lakeside Field Improvements project will replace the existing Field Hockey and Soccer/Lacrosse fields with synthetic turf playing surfaces. The project also includes converting the south grass athletic/recreation field to a synthetic turf surface striped for Football. To make space for the new 100-yard field, the existing soccer/lacrosse field will be shifted slightly north which will require moving the existing bleachers and game operations booth north as well. New sports lighting will be provided for the field hockey field, and will made available for scheduled competition and recreational use.

The project also includes upgrades to electrical infrastructure with pedestrian lighting improvements and asphalt walk improvements for the existing lakefront pedestrian path. To complete these improvements, the Soccer/Lacrosse and grass intramural fields and lakefront pedestrian path will be closed from June 2015 through December 2015.
