Facilities Management's Office of Planning supports academics, resource and budgetary allocation, research, and fundraising by collecting, analyzing, and distributing accurate facilities-related information. Facilities Management Planning (FMP) is the resource and "data steward" for the University's space inventory. In order to make sure Northwestern maintains its reputation as a University of the highest order of excellence, we must understand the University's use of its current physical infrastructure. Comparing operating costs and maintenance to revenues generated by facilities is the basis for short and long-term planning. Current rates of use have a direct impact on renewal and replacement costs and academic program development. Accuracy in collecting, analyzing, and distributing this data is the purpose of the Office of Planning. |
