The Process

  1. The request is received in the Facilities Management office.
  2. A work order is created and the information is passed on to the appropriate shop foreman or assistant foreman by pager, radio or phone.
  3. The foreman distributes the requests to individual technicians in that shop.

Facilities Management will determine if the request for service needs to go out to a technician the same day. All temperature complaints, plumbing requests and security issues (broken locks, broken windows, etc.) are given out the same day. We usually attempt to handle the calls in the same order that we have received them except for emergencies (floods, power failures, etc.). When an emergency arises, a technician will be pulled off whatever non-emergency job they are working on to respond to the problem.
