For instance, they collect plastics, but only a limited type. Acceptable items are listed below. Please read the list carefully! CansAluminum food and beverage containers, steel (tin) cans, empty aerosol cans, clean aluminum foil pans and dry, empty paint cans. Rinse cans. Labels need not be removed. No scrap metal, cookware, or partially filled aerosol or paint cans! Glass Bottles & JarsGlass bottles and jars only, clear, green and brown. No ceramics, pottery, window glass, mirrors, or light bulbs. Plastic BottlesBOTTLES with a #1 or #2 in a triangle on the bottom, also 6 and 12-pack rings. No other kinds of plastic are accepted. Remove all lids and discard them. Rinse bottles. Newsprint & MagazinesNewspapers and all inserts, glossy magazines and catalogs, corrugated cartons (broken down), chipboard (e.g. cereal, show and food boxes broken down), junk mail, office paper, phone books. Paper should be kept separate from other materials. You may place papers in a brown paper grocery bag, but not in plastic bags.
