Project Description & Statistics
Northwestern University is planning an addition and renovation of Searle Hall, 633 Emerson Street, on the Evanston Campus. The structure, originally constructed in 1962 as Student Health Facility and Infirmary, currently houses NU Student Health Services (NUHS) as well as portions of The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). The addition will be 4 levels, including a garden level,
with a total of approx. 29,290 GSF. The addition will include space
to three clinical 'pods' which each have procedure rooms, exam rooms and support area for 4 to 5 practitioners on the first and second levels. The third level will include two Student Service Meeting Rooms (60 person and a 30 person) in addition to CAPS Life Skills Center and office space for the Heath Education Group. The Garden Level will include space for Staff Support in addition to mechanical and electrical equipment of the building. The renovated existing structure will house the NUHS Records and Insurance in the Garden Level, with Pharmacy and Admissions, Administration and Radiology & Clinical Labs on the first level. CAPS will expand to occupy the entire 2 level of the renovated structure.
