Project Description & Statistics
The Nanofabrication Project will address needs resulting from growth of faculty research groups currently located in the Technological Institute and expected increases of new faculty in the Chemistry Department. As such, it will provide new research laboratories and associated office space for existing and emerging research initiatives. The building is planned to meet four key objectives:
- Provide new space to accommodate program growth and emerging programs
- Physically organize the programs to provide for the highly specialized requirements of each group, while developing a collegial atmosphere.
- Improve the interaction and integration of diverse disciplines of research into multi-disciplined research initiatives.
- Provide "state of the art" chemical research, analytical, and laser laboratories.
The new facility will house programs in chemistry which are closely related to chemistry programs located in the Technological Institute and to biology programs located in the Materials and Life Sciences Building.
Construction of a new 43,800 nsf Center for Nanofabrication and Molecular Self Assembly research laboratory building for the Chemistry Department.
Project Cost: $32,250,000
