The Mickey Leland - Bill Emerson Hunger Fellows National
Program is a designed to give 20-24 people who are vested in becoming emerging
leaders against hunger exposure to both grassroots and public policy experience.
Fellows are placed for six-months in a rural or urban site. After the field site
assignment is completed, Fellows are relocated to Washington DC for the public
policy segment of the program, which pairs Fellows with national non-profit organizations.
Fellows submit project proposals and their preferences for geographical location.
The program directors take this information into account along with the needs
of the field site organizations to determine site placements. |
