The NSF sets priorities among the sciences: energy-related
programs have a high priority; in general the hard sciences are more heavily favored
than the social and behavioral sciences. However, awards in the social sciences
are made every year, including to Northwestern students. Awards are NOT made in
professional fields, such as business, medicine, law, or public health; in education
programs other than a research-based Ph.D. in science education; or for joint
science and professional degree programs. |
