This fellowship program directs special emphasis
toward the recruitment of minority and female physical science students to offset
the historic underrepresentation of these groups within the research community.
Eligible fields include Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Materials
Science, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, and Engineering (Chemical, Computer,
Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical). The selection is based on academic
standing, course work taken in preparation for graduate school, research experience
in university or industry, and letters of recommendation at the professional level,
both from professors and from employers. |
