  THE FELLOWSHIP PROCESS
Applying for major fellowships pits you against other similarly talented high achievers from schools that rival Northwestern in reputation, student body, and resources. While the Office of Fellowships desires that you concentrate on the perfect fit between your goals and your abilities, you should recognize up front that major fellowships require a special mindset and a special set of application skills. Fellowship selection committees are not trying to select a diverse group of intelligent, talented people; they're looking for students who exhibit precise and well-defined intellectual goals.
  GET STARTED
Begin with a bit of internet research. To find programs, check out the online resources listed in the menu as well as the descriptions collected in the Fellowship Info section of this site. When you find programs that interest you, we encourage you to follow through to their websites for further information and authoritative details regarding upcoming application rounds.

Once you've got some ideas and a sense of what's out there, see our contact page to set up a consultation and to join our listserv for updates and announcements throughout the year. Also, stop by our office during our weekly Fellowship Forum, listed on the events page - and be sure to pick up a copy of our annual Guide to Major Fellowships.
