USA Today All-USA College Academic Team

The publishers of the newspaper USA Today award $2,500 to 20 top students nationwide, selected on the basis of academic talent, creativity, and leadership. The heart of this application is an essay in which you describe an outstanding original academic or intellectual product. In 2002, Northwestern had three winners; a human communications major, who had founded and directed a non-profit agency dedicated to sending medical supplies to developing countries, placed on the 1st team, an American studies major placed on the 2nd team, and a Medill student placed on the 3rd team. Applications are available online and are due by the deadline.

Undergraduates, with at least junior standing, in any field

PROCEDURE
Students must be nominated by their schools and should initiate the nomination by asking a professor or administrator to write a letter of nomination. Students must register online and download the form. Nomination packets with transcript and letters of recommendation must be mailed to USA TODAY by January 28, 2011.
