Plan ahead. Applicants should start preparing application materials a few months ahead of the deadline.
Some scholarships have both internal and external deadlines. Internal deadlines refer to the date due to the Office of Fellowships. External deadlines refer to the date due to the funding organization. Applicants should be attentive to both, although not all scholarships require an internal deadline.
