Initiatives

The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI) strives to cultivate a campus environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. One of the ways this is done is through our initiatives, which seek to develop diverse leaders and promote inclusion and equity.

IDEA Leaders

IDEA Leaders (formerly known as the Diversity Leaders Group, or DLG) is a university-wide collective of senior diversity leaders, representing Northwestern University’s schools/colleges and major administrative units, who have primary responsibility for inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability (IDEA) in their areas.

Mediation, Conflict Resolution, and Restorative Practices (MCR) Initiative

The MCR Initiative is an effort to cultivate a constructive and collaborative conflict culture (Gelfand et al., 2012) and, in doing so, contribute to the development of more meaningful relationships between individuals and groups at Northwestern.
