Supervision and Evaluation

Outreach and Education Supervision

Outreach Externs are supervised in a group format for 1.5 hours per week by the Assistant Director for Outreach and Education (a Licensed Clinical Psychologist), covering workshop design, facilitation skills, marketing of programs, and program evaluation.  Theories and models of workshop design will be reviewed, in addition to theory and empirical support behind the life skills being taught in the workshops, and historical and current trends in university counseling center outreach.  Outreach Externs also receive guidance and feedback from the CAPS clinician with whom they co-conduct a psychoeducational workshop.

Stress Management Clinic Supervision

Outreach Externs meet with the Stress Management Clinic Coordinator (a Licensed Clinical Psychologist) 1 hour per week in a group format to receive supervision for their interventions at the Stress Management Clinic.

Evaluation of Outreach Externs

Each supervisor provides ongoing verbal evaluation in supervision for Outreach Externs.  Written evaluation is provided for each Extern three times per training year, at the end of each academic quarter (December, March, and June).
