How to Apply to The CLIMB Program at Northwestern:

All prospective graduate students apply to Northwestern through one of the five life science graduate programs. CLIMB is a supplemental professional development program, so you will complete CLIMB training along with your graduate programs requirements:

Follow these steps to CLIMB to the top!

• Surf the websites of the 5 graduate programs in the life sciences.

• Find a program with several faculty who have research interests similar to yours.

• Follow the instructions for applying to the graduate program of your choice.

Program Specific Application Instructions:

• Write a compelling, honest and passionate personal statement in which you discuss your career goals, your research experiences and your reason for choosing your graduate program. Include that you are interested in becoming a CLIMB Scholar.

• It also helps to include a CV in your application materials.

• When you are invited for an interview, dress professionally. Most interviewers want to see that you can speak intelligently about science, so be prepared to answer specific questions about your research projects and interests.
