Eileen McCarthy joined Northwestern University as Director of Change Management in April 2013. In this role she facilitates implementation of Northwestern’s strategic plan and works collaboratively with academic and administrative units in enabling organizational change by leading, supporting, and implementing change initiatives. Prior to coming to Northwestern, she served as the Assistant Vice President for Global Initiatives in the Office of the President at the University of Chicago, where she oversaw the development, management and strategic direction of University-wide global initiatives crossing school and divisional boundaries and in particular the creation of University centers in China and India. In other roles at the University of Chicago, Eileen worked as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Planning in the Office of the President and as the Executive Director of the Center for Policy Practice at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies. Previously, Eileen worked in the private, non-profit, and public sectors, at Deloitte Consulting and H&R Block, and as the Director of Financial Planning at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Budget Director for the Chicago Park District. Eileen received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a Masters in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
