Sign Up for Our Services

Signing up with UCS allows you to access all of our services. You will have access to resources which include our job and internship databases, organizations that are interviewing on-campus, and company information sessions.

Career Counseling & Advising Services

Walk-In Advising

For immediate assistance and to get started with our services, please visit us during our walk-in sessions. Advisors can spend up to 15 minutes talking with you about a range of career issues. These sessions allow us to assess your next steps in meeting with a member of our professional staff. Walk in sessions are offered throughout the academic year.

Walk - In Hours: Tuesday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (during the academic year)

Career Counseling

You will want to start here if you are undecided about your major or career choice. Our experienced career counselors are available to help you in your career decision making process.

Internship Advising

Find out all you need to know about internships and part-time jobs. Our Internship Specialists are available to help you in your search.

Full Time Job Search Advising (Careers After Graduation)

Visit with one of our employment specialists to help you get started on your full-time job search.

Applying to Graduate or Professional School

Information and resources here will help you decide and prepare for your next academic step. Our career counselors are available to help you in the decision making process.

Programs and Workshops

Throughout the academic year, various workshops and panel discussions are held. Panels and individual speakers often consist of alumni discussing why they choose their field of work, what a typical day is like, and how one can prepare for that job. Sign-up for our services to receive up to date information on the programs offered throughout the year.

Jobs & Internships Databases

UCS utilizes both CareerCat and MonsterTRAK for students to view updated jobs and internships.

Electronic & Print Resources

UCS features a number of electronic and print resources for students. Included as a part of our resources are The Wetfeet and Vault electronic career guides, Peterson's Guide to Internships, and H1base.com, a listing of employers who have an interest in hiring international students.

File Services

UCS offers three different placement files for letters of recommendation and supportive material for students/alumni seeking admission to graduate and professional school, candidates applying for teaching positions or doctoral students looking to send information to search committees.

On-Campus Recruiting

Information for students who have an interest in meeting and interviewing with employers who visit Northwestern.

On-Campus Interviewing & Information Sessions

UCS brings in numerous employers on a yearly basis during the academic year for both on campus interviews and company information sessions. On Campus Interviews primarily provides students opportunities to apply for entry level professional opportunities and various internships. For more information about this program, please visit with a UCS advisor or visit us during our walk-in hours.

Job Fairs

UCS sponsors a number of job fairs throughout the academic year for all undergraduate and graduate students. For a listing of upcoming job fairs, please click here.
