- Education World - This site provides comprehensive information on schools throughout the world. This site enables you to search for: Magnet Schools, Montessori Schools, Primary Schools (K-8), Secondary Schools (9-12), School Districts, Charter Schools, Gifted & Talented Schools, Parochial Schools, Public Schools, Special Needs Schools, Christian Schools, Online Classes, Colleges and Universities. It also lists and includes links to many of the state departments of education including: The Florida Department of Education, The Georgia Department of Education, and The Illinois Department of Education. The site allows you to select the location: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Australia and the South Pacific, and Europe. You may then select by states within the United States for the category you are searching. You will then obtain the name and will be able to link to the schools site if available. - Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) – Contains an extensive list of resources on issues of importance to educators in Illinois. If you have questions about teacher certification, you can gain assistance here. This page also maintains links to other state boards of education.

- National Public School Locator - A searchable database of basic information on K-12 schools throughout the United States. Also allows you to search for Charter Schools, Magnet Schools, Special Education, Vocational, and Alternative Schools.
- The Personnel Bulletin - Published by the Human Resources Department of the Chicago Public Schools. This site also links to current press releases, links to board members, internet resources for teachers, Parent tips and resources, as well as current job listings with the Chicago Public school system.
- Peterson's Guide – This site provides information about high schools, colleges and universities, career schools, graduate programs, distance learning, executive training, private secondary schools, summer opportunities, study abroad, financial aid, test preparation, and career exploration. There are links for Educators and to on-line and continuing education tools.
- Project Connect – Provides access to current vacancies for K-12, college & university, and adult education. Search by field and curriculum as well as state. Project Connect is run by and for education. School districts enter vacancies directly into the Project Connect Database which means that vacancies are real and districts are seriously looking for candidates. Alternative Certification Programs/Teach without Certification
- Teach for America - Teach for America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools, and become lifelong leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity. Their mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting some of our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort.
- Inner-City Teaching Corps - The Inner-City Teaching Corps recruits, supports, and develops dedicated, inspired education leaders to serve in inner-city classrooms and school settings. Alumni of their programs can be found in classes across the country, heading schools, and working in education policy. The UNITE program, which develops transitioning professionals into classroom leaders, numbers attorneys, public relations specialists, and a professional actor among its midst.
- NU Teach - NU Teach is an alternative teacher certification program operated through a partnership between Northwestern University, the Golden Apple Foundation, and the Inner-City Teaching Corps.
- Teach Kentucky - Teach Kentucky recruits recent graduates from selective national institutions of higher education to teach in Kentucky public schools.

- Academy for Urban School Leadership - The Academy for Urban School Leadership is a 12 month teacher preparation and certification program whose graduates strive to improve student achievement in Chicago Public Schools.
- DePaul/Glenview Clinical Model Teacher Preparation Program - The DePaul/Glenview Clinical Model Teacher Preparation Program provides a three year sequence during which college graduates earn an Elementary (K-9) teaching certificate and a Master Degree in Teaching and Learning. Candidates work in the Glenview School District 34 as an intern for the first year and as a resident teacher for the following two years.

- National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) – The NAIS represents approximately 1,200 independent schools and associations in the United States and abroad. They offer a broad variety of services to their member schools and associations. Site includes general resources, current news, as well as links to schools.
- The Foundation for Independent Higher Education - This site provides links to 630 private colleges and universities throughout the United States. You may conduct your search by selecting the state and it will provide information on the name of the college or university, the city, state and zip code, telephone number, fax number, president's name, school's affiliation, headcount and enrollment figures. You could then link directly to that particular school.
- National Education Association – The NEA is the largest professional employee organization and is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 2.7 million members work at every level of education, from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state, as well as in more than 14,000 local communities across the United States.
- American Federation of Teachers(AFT) - Founded in 1916, the AFT represents the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers. It is an affiliated international union of the AFL-CIO. This site also provides salary surveys as well as current news and resources.
- American Association of Community Colleges
- Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) - This site promotes research in higher education, examining policy, faculty, and administrative issues. It also contains information for their journal, the Review of Higher Education.
- American Educational Research Association (AERA) - AERA is the most prominent international professional organization with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application.
- American Association of University Professors (AAUP) - AAUP's purpose is to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good. This site also contains research on the economic state of the professorate and salary information.

- Chronicle of Higher Education - (49 issues per year) A very comprehensive publication providing current news and policy issues affecting all areas of education. This publication includes extensive listings of faculty and administrative positions available within higher education.
- Education Week - Education Week provides information on current news, special reports, plus job listings. The web site includes a wide range of administrative and teacher vacancies available across the United States and abroad. You can browse through the listings by region or by job title.
