Glossary:
- Administration (Admin) room or "Room Only": The term is used
to distinguish between a room and a schedule. The term designates a room
used by recruiters for additional space, interviewing or greeting purposes.
No schedule is attached to an administrative room.
- Campus Agreement: an agreement that addresses the ethics of recruiting
in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers and
Northwestern University policy.
- CRIF: Campus Recruiting Information Form that contains information
regarding the employer's reservation with confirmed dates for on campus
recruiting, resume drops, presentations and pre-nights.
- Internship: on-campus recruiting is for summer internships only; however,
academic year internships can be posted in our vacancy listing database
- OCR: On Campus Recruiting
- Presentation: a one or two hour informational meeting in the evening
that is open to all students. This format is an opportunity to share information
about the organization and introduce top managers as well as recent graduates.
The most successful presentations blend a formal discussion with an informal
time of networking. The preferred days for a presentation are Tuesday, Wednesday
or Thursday.
- Pre-night: a one or two hour informational meeting in the evening that
is open to the students who will be interviewed the following day. This format
gives the employer an opportunity to share specific information with all
candidates in order to use the individual interview time more efficiently.
- Resume drop: a resume drop is a posting in CareerCat that allows resumes
and supplement materials (cover letter, unofficial transcripts, writing samples,
test scores) to be collected for a period of two to three weeks. If, after
reviewing the resumes, you wish to come to campus to conduct interviews,
please contact us for room availability
- Schedule(s): a timetable that shows the date, interview time slots
and the names of the students for an on campus recruiting visit.
- Trigger dates: deadlines for the students' resume submission, the employers' pre-select
list, and the students interview signups.
