Navigating CareerCat and On-Campus Recruiting
UCS professionals will provide students the best way to achieve success through
the on-campus recruiting program and will provide efficient ways to navigate
through the CareerCat system. UCS will also review the policies that
protect students and employers.

Applying your Internship Experience to the Job Search
An Internship Specialist will provide helpful tips on how to market students’ past
internship experiences into their full-time job search. Students will learn
how to highlight and cater their experiences for the positions they are applying
for using their internships.

U.S. Job Search for International Students
Finding a job in this economy can be challenging,
especially as an international student (including
grad students). This workshop will provide
information on effective job search strategies
to employ in the US, including resume writing,
interviewing, skill identification, and cultural
considerations.

Networking: Necessary but Not Evil
In today’s economic market, networking is
commonly regarded as the most effective job search
strategy; however, it can be intimidating to use.
Students will get a competitive edge by learning

Job Search in Communications, Marketing, & Media
The Assistant Director of Communications, Marketing, & Media
will provide job search techniques, insider tips,
and how to effectively handle the unique job search
timeline for this industry. A panel of employers
will be present to cover industry trends, job search
timelines, helpful resources and job search strategies
as well as what to expect from employers in communications
industry, including but not limited to marketing,
advertising, public relations, RTVF, and arts-related
organizations.

Recruiting schedule as well as offer insider
tips on having a successful job search in today’s
challenging economy. A panel of employers
will also be present to cover industry trends;

what to expect from employers in the business
sector. This workshop includes but not limited
to banking, finance, and consulting.

Consulting Job Search Workshop
This interactive workshop will cover job search
strategies designed to help you be successful
in your consulting job search. While most firms
like to attract candidates with diverse academic
backgrounds they still look for a specific set

Mock Case Interviewing
The Mock Case Interview Program provides students
with the opportunity to practice case interviewing
one-on-one with a consultant in a mock case interview.
Individual mock case interviews are designed for
students who are familiar with case interviewing.
To sign up for an individual mock case interview
access CareerCat. Under "Jobs/Internships -
Employers Seeking NU Students" locate the "Jobs" tab
and
select "Show me: All Interviews" and
find "Mock Case Interview Program." Resume
and cover letter require. Please indicate your
interview time preferences. Interview times are
assigned on a first come first served basis. For
