- MonsterTrak
We offer access to NU's MonsterTRAK link for current job listings. These jobs are listed by employers specifically seeking Northwestern University alumni. Only current students and alumni who are registered with Northwestern University's UCS-Alumni Career Services have access to these listings. New jobs are added daily! Searches may be made by state as well as by level (Full time entry level, full time mid-level, full time executive level, part-time/contract)
- Job bindersThese are located in the Career Information Center. We have some employers who mail or fax us job vacancies which are placed in binders in our Career Information Center located in the Garden Level of 620 Lincoln Street.

- Employer brochures and literature
UCS-Alumni Career Services provides access to employer information and resources including brochures and publications provided to us by them. These are available at the Career Information Center (Garden Level of 620 Lincoln Street)
- "Career Search" National Employer Database
Provided by Northwestern University Career Services "CareerSearch" is made available only to current students and registered NU alumni. This national database is updated regularly by providing the capability of conducting a search by industry, location, size, employer name and more.
- UCS Career Guide
This 50+ page publication, produced annually by University Career Services, includes all the basics of an effective job search, sample resume formats, cover letter information and samples, tips on career planning and exploration, an outline of our services, as well as a list of the employers who recruited from Northwestern University the previous year.
Confidential one-on-one consultation for alumni
- Confidential one-one-one consultation on any aspect of the job search process, as well as career related issues, is available to all alumni registered with UCS-Alumni Career Services. Please refer to other Topics you may discuss with staff.
- Appointments may be made by calling 847-467-7534. Because of the heavy volume, we ask that you call at least a week in advance if possible. It is preferred that alumni are registered with us prior to having an appointment. If this is not possible, you may complete registration at the time of the appointment or afterwards. - Appointments may be arranged for an in-person or telephone consultation. Please refer to Appointments for Alumni
Resume review and consultation for alumni
- Resume review and consultation is available to registered alumni. This may be done in-person or you may send your resume in advance for a telephone consultation. We also offer email consultation for those already registered with Alumni Career Services. The Job Search Assistance Package provides this service.
- We offer sample resumes and formats for your convenience. These are available in our UCS Career Guide given to all who utilize our services.
Job Search for alumni
- How one conducts a job search will vary depending on the industry one is targeting, one's level of experience, one's current working status, and job/career goals.
- Alumni Career Services offers assistance through The Job Search Assistance Package to help you conduct the job search that is right for you. What may be appropriate for a current student may not be appropriate for someone who is a recent graduate and/or someone with extensive experience.
Interview Preparation for alumni
- Whether you have interviewed recently or if it has been several years since you interviewed, we provide resources and information to help you become familiar with the current styles of interviewing as well as some of the more frequently asked questions.
- Through the Job Search Assistance Package we can provide resources to you and to meet with you to discuss any particular concerns you may have about an upcoming interview. We can also help you read through the job description and requirements to help you be better equipped in how you should present yourself and the skills you may be bringing to the position.
- We can provide information on acceptable protocol before, during, and after the interview, the appropriateness of a portfolio, and how to prepare for the telephone screening interview.
Job Fairs/Career Expos sponsored by UCS open to alumni
- University Career Services sponsors career fairs throughout the academic year. Those career fairs most appropriate for alumni will be listed here and in our Special Message Box section. If you would like to discuss the appropriateness of the our career fairs to your career interests, please contact Cynthia Graham at: cgraham@northwestern.edu
- Anyone who is currently registered with Alumni Career Services is eligible to attend at no cost.
- UCS-sponsored Career Fairs include: Winter Expo 2007(January, 2007) and Martin Luther King Jr Fair 2007 (January 2007) for Non-Profit, Education and Government employers.
