Backpack to Briefcase
To help prepare graduating students in their job search, UCS has designed a series of workshops and events. Beginning with the first week of Fall Quarter, Backpack to Briefcase kicks off the school and students are encouraged to participate in order to be ready for fall recruiting. Law School Week
Co-sponsored by Kaplan, Minorities in the Pursuit of Law, and Phi Alpha Delta, Law School Week is a series of events for students considering Law School held during Fall Quarter. Programs and workshops address all stages of the law school decision-making and application process. New York Recruiting Alliance
This program is for graduating Seniors only. The purpose of the program is to expand interview opportunities for graduating Seniors who are interested in the Communication fields of advertising, marketing, publishing, public relations, legal assistant or media. There is an application process and if accepted, interviews for those invited are conducted in New York. Participating universities are Northwestern University, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC), Smith College, Mount Holyoke College and University of Virginia. Mock Case Interviewing Events
Each Fall and Winter UCS along with campus partners, hosts a mock case interview preparatory event to help students interested in entering the consulting field. The target audience in the Fall is graduating students looking for full-time jobs and the audience in the Winter is primarily for sophomores and juniors looking for consulting internships for the summer. The timing of both of these events each Fall and Winter is coordinated with the overall on campus recruiting calendar. Registration is required.

Practice with the Pros: Mock Interviewing Events
Each Fall and Winter UCS partners with the Northwestern Alumni Association to host a mock interview event to prepare students for behavioral based interviewing in all fields. Students are paired with an alumni volunteer to practice an interview and receive immediate feedback. Similar to the Case Interviewing event, the target audience in the Fall is graduating students seeking full-time jobs and the audience in the Winter is primarily for students seeking internships. Registration is required.
InPursuit Internship Conference
InPursuit is a half-day conference for Northwestern students interested in learning about the internship search process as well as networking with peers, alumni and select conference speakers from campus and community. The conference offers a keynote address, concurrent sessions and a closing networking session. InPursuit occurs during the Fall Quarter and has been sponsored by Internships.com (2010, 2011). SummerFest
SummerFest is a new initiative by University Career Services, The Office of the Provost, Weinberg School of Arts and Sciences, Medill Career Services and Student Affairs, Office of Fellowships, Center for Civic Engagement, SESP, University Academic Advising Center, SoC, The Office of Undergraduate Research, ASG and more! The goal of this event is to help undergraduates at Northwestern answer that famous question "What are you doing this Summer?" by hosting an engaging event that not only provides information on summer programs, internships and research, but also helps to prepare students for application to competitive programs through resume reviews and services by UCS and presentations by various programs and departments within the Northwestern Community.

NEXT Northwestern Externship Program
NEXT is a job shadowing program that connects students with Northwestern alumni for an inside look at today's careers. Alumni volunteers host current students at their respective sites of employment. Opportunities are available in a variety of fields, industries, and job roles. Students are required to register for this program and attend a training session. Applications are typically available in mid-January and the actual event occurs during the month of March.
Life after College Series
Offered in the Spring Quarter this series of programs and events helps prepare students for life after college. Past workshops have included financial and investment advice, social media tips and more.

Fall Campus Recruiting Expo
Offered in Fall Quarter, this career fair connects NU students and alumni to employers looking to hire for mostly full-time positions that will later host on-campus interviews and a few interns.

MLK Public Interest Fair
Offered in Winter Quarter, this career fair celebrates the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through an event hosting employers from non-profit, education and government looking to hire for full-time and internship positions. Winter Career Expo

Medill & School of Communication Career & Internship Fair
This career fair is sponsored by Medill Career Services and the School of Communication EPICS Office and offers all current NU students and alumni the chance to network with employers from the communications, journalism, media, and marketing industries.
This annual Career & Internship Fair, co-hosted by Medill Career Services and the School of Communication EPICS Office, is open to all NU students, recent graduates and experienced alumni. The fair offers internships, freelance, part-time and full-time opportunities in the areas of communications, journalism, marketing and media.

The Hire Big Ten Plus Virtual Career Fair is a "just in time" career fair for undergraduate, graduate students and alumni looking for full time job and internship opportunities. Last year 3,879 students and alumni and 83 employers participated.
