Sexual Health and Assault Peer Educators

Sexual Health and Assault Peer Educators (SHAPE) is a student organization affiliated with Northwestern University Health Service that provides education, organizes events, and generates dialogue about sexual health and sexual assault.

SHAPE's mission is to increase students’ comfort about sexuality, encourage them to learn and adopt healthy sexual behaviors and help them recognize and address unhealthy and dangerous behaviors and attitudes regarding sexuality.

SHAPE selects new members through a competitive application and interview process during fall quarter, and new members take a SHAPE training class during winter quarter. 2011 recruitment is now closed.

After training, peer educators provide presentations and workshops to students, organize outreach events, collaborate with other student organizations and serve as a resource for individual students looking for confidential information about sexual health and sexual assault.

If you would like members of SHAPE to speak to your group, see Request a Program. For more information about SHAPE, visit SHAPE’s website or email shape@u.northwestern.edu.
