How do I log in?
First, point your web browser at the CAESAR Homepage at http://www.northwestern.edu/caesar/.
Then, enter your NetID
and NetID password into the fields provided and click the
"Login" button.
Who can log in to CAESAR?
In general, current students at Northwestern are able to log
in to CAESAR (this is true for all undergraduate, graduate,
and School of Continuing Studies (SCS) students, except for
non-credit SCS students and Kellogg students in the EMP program
-- please contact your school for assistance if you have questions
about this). If you are not a current student (for example,
if you are a faculty or staff member), but would like to look
at the schedule of classes, you can log in to CAESAR as a
guest. To do so, use the link called "View the
Quarterly Class Schedule" from the CAESAR homepage or on the link
called “Quarterly Class Schedule” on the Registrar's web site.
Incoming, admitted undergraduate students have limited access
to CAESAR. Some faculty and staff have access to CAESAR as
Academic Advisors and/or Instructors. Advisors in WCAS, McCormick,
Communication and SESP are currently using advising functions
on CAESAR. Also, a number of schools and departments are using
CAESAR's online grading functionality to submit final grades
at the end of each term. Departments who wish to use CAESAR's
online grading functionality should contact their Office
of the Registrar for more information.
What do I need to log in?
1) You need access to a computer that has a connection to
the internet and a compatible web browser. Earlier versions, later versions
or other browsers may not work properly with CAESAR. Information about supported browsers is available here.
2) You also need an active NetID.
If you do not have a NetID, or if you don't know your NetID
password, please contact the Information
Center helpdesk for assistance.
I'm getting an error, what should I do?
First, make sure that you have entered your NetID and
password correctly (that you haven't mistyped or left your
CAPS LOCK key down). You should also be using a recent
version of a web browser. Information about supported browsers is available here. Finally, double-check that you aren't trying to log in while
the system is down for maintenance (CAESAR is scheduled to
be available 24 hours a day, except between 9:00 pm Saturday
and noon on Sunday for maintenance). If you are still
having problems, you should call the Information
Center helpdesk at 847-491-4357 to find out if your NetID
is okay. You may also be having problems if you've recently
returned to the university and your records haven't been entered
or released for registration yet. More details about
error messages that you may receive and their solutions are
available on our Error Messages page.

to every class section (both enrollment and related
class sections) offered in a term, and are found in
the Schedule of Classes. Class numbers are used to register
for classes. |
| Department
Consent |
This
means a class is setup on permission. You need to contact
the department and if you are granted permission to
enroll in the class, they will give you a permission
number. Then you can return to CAESAR and enroll in
the class using the permission number. |
| Enrollment
Appointment |
The
time which a student has been assigned to be able to
enroll in classes. Also known as a registration time
or appointment time. |

their grading basis. |
| Permission

number a student obtains from a department that is used
to allow a student to enroll in a class that is either
