Q:
I'm entering my NetID and NetID password, and CAESAR tells
me "Your User ID and/or Password are invalid." What
should I do?
Q: I'm getting an error when I try to log in with my NetID and NetID password: "bea.jolt.ApplicationException: TPESVCFAIL - Application level service failure." What does this mean?
A: Both of these messages indicate that you have entered an invalid NetID and password. Double-check that you are entering your NetID
and NetID password correctly. Next, try testing your NetID
at http://password.northwestern.edu
to confirm that your NetID is functioning correctly. Still
stuck? You can also get this error if your NetID is ok, but you don't have a CAESAR account or your CAESAR account is not set up correctly (this might happen if you are a student returning from taking a quarter off). If you are a student, contact the Help Line 847/491-HELP(4357)
or e-mail caesar@northwestern.edu.
If you are a faculty or staff member, more information
on faculty and staff access is available below.
Q: I'm a faculty or staff member
and my NetID doesn't work, how can I log in to CAESAR?
A: Most faculty don't have CAESAR accounts (those
who do are either advisors or instructors who are participating
in our online grade reporting system -- if you fit into one
of these categories, contact the Registrar's Office for access).
If you are looking for class lists, please see the Registrar's
Information for Faculty and Staff page at http://www.registrar.northwestern.edu/staffac/
. Guest access to the CAESAR online Schedule of Classes is
available to all members of the Northwestern community and
the public.
Q: My NetID isn't working,
or I don't have a CAESAR account, can I still see the schedule
of classes?
A: Public/guest access to CAESAR class search for
everyone is available from the CAESAR homepage <http://www.northwestern.edu/caesar/>.
Click on the link to "View the Quarterly Class Schedule"
on the upper lefthand side of the page (next to the half-circle
graphic).
Q: I keep getting sent to a
page that tells me my "connection has expired" immediately
after I log in. How can I fix this?
A: CAESAR uses a timestamped cookie to track your
session. If your computer's date, time, and/or timezone is
set incorrectly, CAESAR can think that your session is over
right after you log in. Double-check that your computer's
date, time, and timezone have been set correctly. This problem
can also occur if your browser's session with CAESAR (stored
in your browser cache and cookies) has been corrupted. Please
see the browser troubleshooting
page for information on how to clear your browser's cookies
and temporary internet files.
