Announcements:
10/06: BIF Suggestion Box begins.
We are always open to hearing our users' ideas about how to improve the instrumentation
and service in BIF. To this end we have designed an additional means for you
to communicate with us. Clicking on the following link will take you to a survey
(through Survey Monkey). Here you will have the opportunity to tell us about
your BIF experience, describe any problems you may have encountered,
and to make suggestions for new instrument acquisitions. We hope you will make
good use of the BIF Suggestion Box. Click
here to use BSB.
9/30: BIF scheduler update to FOM.
During the next two weeks we will be retiring our scheduling software
and adopting the Facilities Online Management (FOM) application.
FOM offers enhanced features that allow a greater level of communication,
increased access to account status, and more flexibility of reportage.
All users of BIF instruments must set up a FOM account. Click
here to go to the FOM homepage.
3/20: Notice to Users - Please remember that Northwestern no longer uses CUFS accounts for finances. Please use your PeopleSoft Chart String for all BIF use.
3/24: Annual Research Facilities Fair
Shared and Core Facilities (including BIF) from the Evanson Campus, and a few from the Chicago Campus affiliated with the Cancer Center, will be displaying and handing out information about their equipment and services in the Pancoe Atrium (2nd Floor) from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Afterwards, there will be an Open House in each facility from noon until 3:00 p.m.

3/27: Midwestern Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Annual Meeting BIF is co-sponsoring the Midwest Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Meeting on correlative microscopy. Our lineup of speakers is wonderful - all are acknowledged experts in this exciting area of microscopy. Corporate sponsors will be displaying information and instruments in the Einsteins’ Café area. These are the people who provide ongoing support to all BIF users as well as contributing to our annual meeting. Even if you are not attending the meeting, please stop by the exhibition area.
Registration is required for the meeting. The cost of the registration is low, and lunch is included. To provide an accurate estimate of the number who will be attending, we appreciate early registration.
To register, contact Dr. Christina Russin (c-russin@northwestern.edu).

7/9 - All confocal users must complete their Basic
Laser Safety Training from the Office for Research Safety.
All Laser Operator Registration forms must be turned in to Jamie
Bufkin. Any user who has not completed their training by this
time will have their BIF access suspended until all forms are
turned in. If you have any questions, please contact BIF personnel.
