1) Communicating with Confidence

Communicating with Confidence
Thursday, January 31
5:00-7:00pm @ CAPS Life Skills Center, 619 Emerson

This workshop series is designed to help one develop assertive communication skills. The workshop will cover the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness. Participants will learn the four types of basic assertion, and will practice assertiveness skills in session. Internal and external obstacles to assertive communication will be addressed as well as strategies to overcome them.

Please note this is a three-part workshop. Participants are asked to attend each session.

2) Stress Management Clinic

Stress Management Clinic - Mondays
January 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 3, 10
9:00-10:00am @ CAPS Life Skills Center, 619 Emerson

By helping students maximize their performance by minizing their stress, the Stress Management is designed to serve as a resource for students who are experiencing problems such as concentration difficulties, procrastination, feelings of anxiety, or other forms of stress which arise in connection with personal or academic stressors.

The core module of the Clinic provides: (1) opportunities to identify physical and emotional symptoms; (2) instruction in identifying the types of situations that create stress for you; and (3) training in skills and techniques that will help you manage your stress effectively.
